A taste of Silopanna Music Festival

EOA_SiloPeople ask me what band really excites me for the upcoming Silopanna Music Festival.  It’s a hard choice, for me because I love discovering new (to me) music and Rams Head On Stage does such a great job of that. There is nothing better (IMHO) than buying a ticket to a show with no idea about the talent. I have been pleasantly surprised more often than not.

The acts on the Silopanna lineup are strong. Really strong.  The Flaming Lips, Eric Hutchinson, Dashboard Confessional, Matt and Kim,  Sleeper Agent, Hellogoodbye, Jimmies Chicken Shack are all powerhouses in their own right–but put them on a single stage in Annapolis and it makes for one incredible festival.

But it does not stop there! Rounding out these headlining acts are some up and coming acts as well as some regional favorites– Chappo, Twin Forks, Damn Right!, and local favorites like Pasadena, Sweet LEda, Higher Hands, Sun Club, Skribe, Little Bird, and Battle of the Bands winner from 2014–Brothers Clair.

But who am I most excited to see?  For me it is easy–Matt and Kim.  I saw the real-life couple for the first time at the Virgin Mobile FreeFest back in 2010 and I fell in love with the energy and quirkiness of this duo who just got up on stage and beat the hell out of the drums and keys and sang their hearts out and made it all work!  I am not sure what it says when a guy who is almost twice their age is a fanboy, but I was so excited to see them in Annapolis at the Silopanna that never was; but now that they are back….I am there–front and center.  Here’s a taste!
