The Arc Central Chesapeake Region, an organization that provides customizable, innovative supports and services to people with developmental disabilities and their families is joining forces with Talisman Therapeutic Riding, Inc., to provide for a day of fun for families and to raise money for therapeutic horseback riding scholarships. The Summer Solstice Celebration will feature food, activities, and a live band.
Kate Rollason, Executive Director of The Arc Central Chesapeake Region, says, “While this event is targeted towards families who have children with developmental and intellectual disabilities, all are invited to attend. We hope this day will encourage families to spend time together while enjoying fun, inclusive activities as well as raise funds to provide therapeutic horseback riding scholarships to members of our community.”
The event will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 1-5pm at Talisman Farm in Grasonville. Registration is online at http://summersolstice.kintera.org/2014. The cost is $25 per car and is all inclusive. There will be a limited number of free admittance certificates for those who have a child or children with developmental disabilities. The Arc Central Chesapeake Region’s (CCR) Mission is to promote respect, create opportunities and advocate for equal rights for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
