Phillips Seafood celebrating 100 years

CrabFeast07_64Not many companies can boast being in business for 100 years, but in 2014, Phillips Seafood celebrates their 100th Anniversary. From their humble beginnings as simple watermen working on the Chesapeake Bay, Phillips Seafood has grown into an international seafood company. Now through Labor Day, Phillips Seafood will be celebrating this Century of Seafood milestone with special promotions, exciting events and entertaining contests.

While remembering their past, the Phillips family looks toward the future of local waters by partnering with the Maryland Watermen’s Association (MWA). Phillips has compiled their 100 favorite recipes from the past 100 years into a commemorative cookbook, with proceeds to be donated to the Maryland Watermen’s Association. The 100th Anniversary Cookbook features Eastern Shore recipes from Shirley Phillips’ archives, guest favorites from Phillips Seafood Restaurants, and winners from the company’s annual crab meat recipe contests. This is a must have for seafood enthusiasts, and will be available for $20 in Phillips restaurants or at www.phillipsseafood.com.

In addition, Phillips is featuring one of their signature cocktails, the Blue Crab Margarita, as the official beverage in support of the MWA, with $1 donated for each Blue Crab Margarita sold.

Phillips will be awarding FREE Seafood for a Year to three lucky sweepstakes winners during June, July and August. Grab a chance to win by becoming a member of the Phillips e-club on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PHILLIPSSEAFOOD!

During the 100 Days of Summer, the Phillips culinary team will be offering their Maryland Seafood Ambassador Menu, centered around recipes showcasing the freshest bounty from our local waters and farms. Phillips will also celebrate Throwback Thursday, offering special menu entrées priced at $19.14.

Come celebrate a Century of Seafood during Phillips’ 100 Days of Summer in Baltimore, MD; Annapolis, MD; Ocean City, MD; and Atlantic City, NJ.

Phillips Seafood is anchored in tradition and remains family owned and operated by the Phillips family. In 2014, the company is celebrating a Century of Seafood, marking the 100th Anniversary of their first seafood processing plant on Hoopers Island in the Chesapeake Bay. The Maryland Waterman’s Association is dedicated to the interests of all who derive beauty & benefit from Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay waters. They help to protect the Chesapeake Bay from pollution to further the bay’s production of prized seafood such as crabs and oysters. In addition, The MWA defends the rights of watermen and people who depend on the bay for their livelihood against unfair rules and regulations for harvesting the bay’s seafood.
