Last week, the campaign of County Executive Laura Neuman sent emails to supporters of her opponent, Delegate Steve Schuh, encouraging them to drop their support, and in turn, support her candidacy for the office.
The email did not go over too well with one Howard County State Delegate. Howard County Republican Delegate Warren E. Miller fired back at Neuman and did not mince words.
The campaign for the County’s top office seems to have evolved into a debate, not of qualifications, but one of who is the better “republican.” Schuh cites Neuman’s lack of involvement in the party and her political contributions to democratic candidates. While Neuman alleges that Schuh supports Democratic Governor O’Malley and Obamacare. With all the mudslinging, it appears that the issue of selecting a leader for the County is becoming clouded.
