Last Mile Logistics relocates to Anne Arundel

Open For BusinessCounty Executive Laura Neuman today joined local leaders, chamber representatives and officials from Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation in welcoming Last Mile Logistics to Anne Arundel County. The company, which recently relocated from Howard County to Odenton, is one of the largest providers of distribution and transportation services in the mid-Atlantic region.

“I have known Don Hill and his team for years, beginning with my time in economic development. I enjoyed working with them then, and I could not be more pleased about Last Mile’s decision to expand to a high-tech distribution center here in Anne Arundel County,” said County Executive Neuman. “We are here to make sure businesses are successful in our county, and I look forward to a continued partnership with Last Mile in the future.”

From its new location at 1710 Midway Road in Odenton, the company is well situated to handle distribution for all of its customers large and small, including Party City, Sally Beauty and Amazon, Managing Partner Don Hill explained.  Additionally, it houses the largest consolidation operation for Bed Bath & Beyond in North America. The new facility also provides a powerful combination of a state-of-the-art distribution center paired with a considerably expanded fleet size, thus allowing for even more competitive rates.

“We not only appreciate Ms. Neuman’s visit today, but also are grateful for all the times over the last few years that she, as an economic development leader, helped us with various community issues,” Hill said.

Last Mile Logistics is now able to operate 24 hours a day in its new 180,000-square-foot facility, which was not possible at the company’s Howard County location. They now process 16,000 cartons each day, including 3 to 4 million a year for Bed, Bath & Beyond alone.

“We welcome Last Mile Logistics to Anne Arundel County,” said Ed Rothstein, president and CEO of Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation. “West County is the hub of growth and development right now. I know that this strategic location, the transportation thoroughfares running through it and the highly skilled workforce in the area were critical factors in making Odenton Last Mile Logistics’ home for many years to come.
