CBS names Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge a ‘Must See’

MetropolitanAfter only three years, Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge has successfully made a name for itself in the highly competitive Annapolis dining and entertainment scene and will be featured as a “must see” destination in the E.S.P. (Eat. See. Play) newsletter distributed by CBS Baltimore.

“We are proud to offer Annapolitans great food, as well as great music, and we’re excited to be recognized as a must-see venue in the Annapolis community,” commented manager Tom Hanna. In addition to this recent feature from CBS Baltimore, Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge was recently voted by Capital Gazette Readers Choice as ‘Best Nightspot in Annapolis’ and as a finalist for ‘best live music venue.’

Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge boasts a first floor dining room, a second floor music venue, and a destination third floor rooftop bar with outdoor dining and several lounge areas. Perfect for summer dining, the rooftop bar also features heaters and the option to enclose the space, making it a perfect establishment for year round events.

Building on its reputation as a restaurant that features seasonal cuisine, Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge recently introduced its spring menu. The menu stays true to the seasonal focus, featuring fresh fruits and vegetables available in local and regional farmers markets. “Our dishes reflect our commitment to sustainability. We believe in thinking globally and acting locally,” says Hanna.

In addition to featuring locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients on its dining menu, Metropolitan is also committed to highlighting local beers on its extensive craft beer list. “There is a lot of pride in our region. We enjoy having visitors come in and ask for something they can only get here,” says Bar Manager Brendan Kilroy. Some of the regional brews featured at Metropolitan include selections from Union, DC Brau, Evolution and Dogfish Head.

Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge is committed to supporting and sustaining the local community, from purchasing fresh meats, vegetables and other ingredients from local vendors whenever possible and practical, to providing aspiring musicians, artists, and performers a venue to showcase their work. By helping to organize local fairs, festivals, and other special events, Metropolitan’s mission is to build a strong sense of community both within its walls and throughout the surrounding neighborhood.
