Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman announced the county’s Office of Finance has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report. This is the 33rd-consecutive year the office has received this distinction.
“I am so proud of our hardworking men and women in the Office of Finance, and would like to not only congratulate them on receiving this honor, but also thank them for their dedicated service in keeping the county’s finances in order,” said County Executive Neuman. “Their efforts have played a lead role in enabling the county to continue its fiscally conservative stewardship of taxpayer dollars and secure improved bond ratings from credit agencies over the last year.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. It is presented by the Government Finance Officers Association, a nonprofit serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals. For more information, go to www.gfoa.org.
