Claude AnShin Thomas, Zen Monk, returns to Annapolis, offers three events

Claude Anshin Thomas stickClaude AnShin Thomas, a Zen Buddhist Monk, veteran with two Purple Hearts from Vietnam, author of At Hell’s Gate, offers three events at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Rd.

Claude AnShin fled a childhood of abuse by enlisting in the army at seventeen, returning from Vietnam with undiagnosed PTSD, and sinking into addiction.

He will teach others spiritual recovery from trauma or addiction: Thurs. April 10, 7-9 PM, a talk, “The Real Costs of War.” Fri. April 11, 9AM -5 PM, a seminar for veterans and family only, delving into “The Real Costs of War”.  Sat. April 12, 9 AM – 5 PM, a seminar for everyone on “The Courage to Change.”  During the seminars, we will practice many different forms of mindfulness meditation: sitting meditation, walking meditation, eating meditation, silence, mindful speaking and listening, and others. No prior experience with meditation is necessary.
