Waugh Chapel developers establish $1M fund with Community Foundation

community foundationGreenberg Gibbons and Reliable Contracting, the developers of Waugh Chapel Towne Centre, recently launched a $1 million fund at the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County. This charitable fund, called the Greenberg Gibbons/Reliable Foundation, was created to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

The Greenberg Gibbons/Reliable Foundation has already made $550,000 in grants including $300,000 to 12 PTOs at public schools surrounding Waugh Chapel Towne Center and $250,000 to Hospice of the Chesapeake. The remaining assets will be donated to a variety of nonprofits and charitable organizations, including Leadership Anne Arundel, that fit within the developers’ goals for corporate giving.

“Anne Arundel County has been a welcoming home for many of our projects,” said Brian Gibbons, CEO and chairman of Greenberg Gibbons.  “We are so excited to be investing in the area by supporting regional organizations that provide a range of important services, through our partnership with the Community Foundation.”

The Community Foundation works with local donors to establish charitable funds which reflect the interests of the benefactors as well as the needs of the local community. Their customized philanthropic programs are designed to achieve real impact and allow businesses to enjoy the benefits of giving back.

“My family and I have been involved with the Community Foundation for many years,” says Jay Baldwin, president of Reliable Contracting. “This gift is a great opportunity for us to team up together once again, and to help local nonprofits continue to thrive and provide important services for us all.”

“We are thrilled to help these two generous companies donate to our community in an easy, effective and efficient manner,” says Bess Langbein, executive director of the Community Foundation.  “They are sincerely committed to improving the quality of life in our region. It’s an honor to partner with them.”
