Just before 2:30 p.m. today, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department was alerted to an incident that had occurred at the water tower located behind the Eastern District Police Station and Jacobsville Fire Station located 3700 Mountain Road in Pasadena.
Upon arriving at the scene, fire personnel found a 21 year-old male unconscious and unresponsive who had reportedly fallen from the water tower. The victim was a worker employed by a private contracting company and was working on communications equipment that is located atop of the tower which is approximately 180 feet tall. Paramedics aggressively attempted to resuscitate the worker at the scene however the victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
The incident is currently under investigation by Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH). The identity of the worker is being held pending notification of the next of kin.
