An annual celebration of flavorful music and delicious and wholesome food, the event embraces good living, along with health and well-being, community and sustainability, and leaves a gentle footprint as a carbon-neutral event – a party with a purpose.

This is the fourth year sweetlife has been held at Merriweather Post Pavilion, and has been produced and promoted by I.M.P., one of the largest independent concert promoters and event production companies in the nation. Last year’s music lineup included Phoenix, Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gary Clark Jr., and Solange, among other top performers. Additional artists at previous festivals included Fun, HAIM, Avicii, The Strokes, Girl Talk, Lupe Fiasco, The Shins, Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky, and Haerts. The festival is dedicated to sustainability. Here are a few ways we do things greener:

  • Carbon Neutral — sweetlife is committed to offsetting the power generated at the event through green tag purchases (a.k.a. renewable energy certificates) and solar panels installed on the main stage roof.
  • Compost, recycle, recover! — With the help of Fatworm Composting, sweetlife has created tri-waste stations to minimize the amount of trash headed to the landfill after the concert. Each vendor will provide compostable utensils, cups and napkins.
  • Collect, recycle, redeem! — No bottle or cup left behind. Attendees are invited to collect recyclables from the festival, which can be traded for custom sunglasses, a festival art poster, headphones, backpacks and other items.

This year, sweetlife will be partnering with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to continue the festival’s commitment to leave a gentle footprint and educate patrons about the importance of living sustainably. Both organizations will be providing sweetlife with volunteers, who are both passionate and knowledgeable about sustainability, to operate the festival’s eco stores and eco stations.

Proceeds from sweetlife support “sweetgreen in schools,” an educational program created by sweetgreen to introduce kids to the benefits of healthy eating and nutrition, and to teach them the larger impact of the food choices they make through fun, hand-on activities. Ticket purchasers will have the option to donate additional funds to sweetgreen in schools through a donation button on www.ticketfly.com
