PR Event: How To Get Elected Officials To Your Event

MegaphoneLearn ways to bring a high-profile public official to your special event or how to get your organization tied into elected officials initiatives. That is the topic when the Central Chesapeake chapter of the Public Relations Society of America hosts press secretaries from the offices of the governor, county executive and Annapolis mayor. The lunch-and-learn seminar is on Thursday, Feb. 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 49 West Coffee House, 49 West St., Annapolis. Open to the public, $25 members, $30 nonmembers, includes lunch. Giving a concise presentation and then answering questions at “Political Connecting” will be: Nina Smith, press secretary to Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley; Linda West, press secretary for Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman; and Rhonda Wardlow, press secretary for Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides.  Attendees will learn the most effective way of initiating productive contacts between their organizations and the elected officials.

The panel presentation is open to public relations, communications, events or other professionals who promote special events or programs for their organization or clients.
