AACC Announces March Events

Students have the opportunity to ask questions about programs and admissions policies face-to-face with more than 100 colleges who traditionally attend Anne Arundel Community College’s annual College Fair. This year’s College Fair is Wednesday, March 12, from 6-8 p.m. in the David S. Jenkins Gymnasium on AACC’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Anne Arundel Community College offers many events open to the community that are organized or hosted by various college departments or programs. AACC CLASSES

March 1 – Registration for summer noncredit classes begins: www.aacc.edu/noncredit; deadline for submitting application for May 2013 graduation, www.aacc.edu/recreg/graduation/.

March 7 – 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Women’s Empowerment Symposium, a collaborative effort between AACC’s Office of Student Engagement and Women’s Institute; Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 219; includes a discussion with women who are community leaders, workshops that to provide concrete tools for empowerment on both the personal and professional levels, and a keynote speech by leadership trainer Nancy Hunter Denney. March 29 – 8 p.m. Performance, “Ahimsa,” a play written and directed by Shree Iyengar, Ph.D., AACC professor of chemistry, Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts. The word “Ahimsa” is a Sanskrit word for nonviolence, and humanity’s search for peace is the focus of the play.
