Speed & Alcohol Suspected In Early Morning Millersville Crash

On January 1, 2014, at approximately 07:05 a.m., officers from the Traffic Safety Section responded to Brightview Drive, west of Sunnyview Drive for a report of a single vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was being operated by Joseph Garrick Henehan at the time of the crash. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Brightview Drive when the driver failed to negotiate the curve near Sunnyview Drive. The vehicle began to rotate, leaving the roadway on the eastbound side of the road.

The vehicle then tripped and began to rollover. The driver was ejected as a result of the vehicle rolling over. The vehicle then struck a tree, coming to final rest. Mr. Henehan was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma by Anne Arundel County Paramedic Unit and is currently listed in critical condition.
