Schuh Introduces Legislation For Separate AACC Police Force

Anne Arundel Community College PoliceDelegate Steve Schuh has sponsored legislation establishing a police force for Anne Arundel Community College.

“Our community college has grown in size and stature over the past decade, and it is time to make sure it has the security to fit its needs,” Schuh said. “President Dawn Lindsay and the Board of Trustees of the College requested this new capability, and we have a duty to provide support. This legislation provides the framework to establish a police force that can better meet the unique needs of our outstanding community college and reduce the burden on County police.”

Delegate Schuh is introducing the bill in his capacity as Chair of the Anne Arundel County House Delegation to the General Assembly. The estimated cost is minimal due to resources devoted to existing security personnel.
