2 Men Identified In Glen Burnie Murder-Suicide.  Anne Arundel County police said the deaths of two men in Glen Burnie are being investigated as a murder-suicide. Police said the occupants of a basement apartment inside a single-family home in the unit block of Wendover Road reported hearing gunshots inside the home shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.

Girl Rescued After Fall Into 30′ Pasadena Well.  Fire crews in Anne Arundel County rescued a 10-year-old girl who fell and got trapped 30 feet inside an old well in Pasadena on Monday afternoon. Twenty firefighters and other emergency personnel were called just before 4 p.m. to the 800 block of 207th Street in the Green Haven neighborhood of Pasadena, where they found the girl stuck in the well that was 3 feet in diameter.

Canceled Polar Bear Plunge Rescheduled.  Bitter cold weather prompted organizers to cancel the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge for the first time in the event’s 18-year history. The event has been rescheduled to March 8. It will be a plunge-only environment with a PeeWee/Family Plunge at 11 a.m. and open plunges at noon, 1 and 2 p.m.

BGE Bills Soar, Company Offers Options.  The string of consecutive cold weather days is forcing many people to crank up the heat, but that has some side effects as well. The biggest side effect is the extra cash that’s spent to keep warm. There is a propane shortage, and area utilities like Baltimore Gas and Electric are asking customers to conserve.  The mid-Atlantic region’s electricity grid operator, PJM Interconnection, is also calling for energy conservation, claiming it’s managing a tight power supply.
