CBMM To Host Blessing Of The Fleet April 9th

The public is invited to launch this year’s boating season along with Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) members, volunteers, and boatyard staff at an April 9 Blessing of the Fleet ceremony to honor CBMM’s floating fleet of historic boats, as well as other boats along the Miles River.

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD invites the public to come by land or boat to help welcome the boating season with a Blessing of the Fleet on Wednesday, April 9. Led by the Reverend Kevin M. Cross of The Church of the Holy Trinity in Oxford, MD, the event is scheduled to begin at 5pm under the museum’s 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside to the museum’s Small Boat Shed. For more information, visit www.cbmm.org.
