2 Alarm Fire Destroys Dunkirk Home

The second  two multi-alarm fires in Anne Arundel County this past week left a single family Dunkirk home a total loss.

Just before 2 p.m., multiple 911 calls began to be received reporting a dwelling fire in the 6200 block of McKendree Road.  Upon arrival, firefighters reported a two-story home well involved in fire and immediately requested a second alarm.  It took 47 firefighters from Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, Calvert, and Queen Anne’s County about two hours to bring the incident under control. One occupant at home at the time of the fire was able to escape with no injuries.  It is unclear at this time if there were any working smoke alarms.

The fire caused approximately $400.000 and total damages. At this time the cause is undermined and remains under investigation.
