The City of Annapolis has released a statement regarding the departure of Planning and Zoning Director Jon Arason which we first reported on Friday afternoon.

“I am grateful for all that Mr. Arason has done for the City and its residents over the past 27 years,” Mayor Pantelides said. “I know change is difficult, but I believe changes are necessary to thoroughly review the department and its policies and procedures. I wish Jon much success in his future endeavors.”

“Jon is an outstanding professional who has left a tremendous legacy in the City of Annapolis with projects such as Acton’s Landing, to name just one,” City Manager Michael Mallinoff said.
