Sold Out Michael Bolton Show Delights More Than 800

botonMichael Bolton, the multiple Grammy Award-winning Singer, Songwriter and Social Activist, who has sold more than 53 million albums and singles worldwide. Bolton’s hits include “(Sittin’ On) the Dock of the Bay”, “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You”, “When a Man Loves a Woman”, “Said I Loved You But I Lied”, “How Can We Be Lovers” and many, many more. Bolton’s most recent album, released in 2013 is focused on Motown’s first headquarters “A Tribute To Hitsville, USA” and covers popular standards such as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing.”

In recognition of his artistic achievements, Bolton has won 2 Grammys for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance, 6 American Music Awards, and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As a songwriter, he has earned over 24 BMI & ASCAP Awards, including Songwriter of the Year, 9 Million-Air awards, and the Hitmakers Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Bolton has recently been featured as a guest vocalist in The Lonely Island’s song “Captain Jack Sparrow” that debuted on Saturday Night Live and was performed live on the Emmys. The Emmy-nominated video has racked up over 95 million views on YouTube, where it was the 3rd most viewed video of 2011. His timeless style, charm and good looks have also earned him a spot in several “People Magazine’s Sexiest Man” issues, including 2012’s “Sexiest Man Alive.”

Tonight’s performance included many of his classic hits like “To Love Somebody”

mixed in with Christmas tunes and a surprisingly (to me) smoking version of Sweet Home Chicago.

2013-12-17 20.06.32Rams Head has not produced a show at Maryland Hall since approximately 2004, before Rams Head Live opened in Baltimore. This show was an early sellout with more than 800 people enjoying the vocals of Michael Bolton.

“Rams Head is such a great place to see shows, but there needs to be a bigger venue to bring the bigger acts,” said Melanie Jacobs who traveled from Bowie for the show. “Getting into DC or Baltimore is a hassle–free parking, great sound, wine and beer–and Michael Bolton–what more could a girl want?”

This show appears to be a return to off-site shows for Rams Head. Onstage is an intimate venue with a distinct club feel. With a full stage at Maryland Hall, coupled with the capacity, it makes an ideal venue. And Rams Head has seen this opportunity and will be bringing Dave Mason’s  Traffic Jam to Maryland Hall on January 23rd.  According to Brandon Linton with the Rams Head, “tickets for the Mason show got off to a great start and I do expect it to sell out as well.” You can purchase tickets here.

Hopefully this is the start of a good thing for Rams Head and we will see even bigger talent brought to Annapolis.
