South River Students Learn How To Make Drones.  Some Anne Arundel County high school students are learning how to make and fly unmanned aerial systems, or drones. It didn’t take much to get students at South River High School to get excited about building mini-drones right in their classroom. “We’re constructing them. We’re learning about how they can be used, how to fly them. Everything about this class it makes me happy to come into school, first period in the morning,” said Duncan Squires, a student.

Woman Details Assault At Hands Of Home Invader.  A Hanover woman got a wakeup call that she’d like to forget after police said a man broke into her home, tied her up, threatened to kill her and then drove off with her car. That woman told 11 News she’s worried for others. Police don’t yet know if the attack was random or targeted, but Gail Jones told 11 News she believes it was someone who knew her movements and knew that she was vulnerable.

Trio Faces Charges After Traffic Stop.  Anne Arundel County police said three men were arrested and face drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Gambrills. Police said officers were conducting a traffic stop on a 1992 Plymouth Sundance for an equipment violation in the area of Springhill Way and Silver Way around noon on Wednesday when the officer smelled a strong presence of suspected marijuana.

Police: Teen Breaks Into Odenton School.  Anne Arundel County police said a teenager was charged in connection with burglary at a school in Odenton. Officers were called to the Seven Oaks Elementary School on Town Center Boulevard for a report of an alarm in progress around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Arriving officers found a window that had been shattered, and while they were securing the scene, police saw the suspect running from the school.
