Judge Denies Dwyer’s Request For Reduced Jail Time.  Anne Arundel County Delegate Don Dwyer will still be serving jail time during the upcoming General Assembly session. A judge on Tuesday denied Dwyer’s request to reduce his 60-day jail sentence. Dwyer was convicted of driving under the influence in August and boating under the influence last year.

Child Left With Hotel Clerk, Mother Charged.  Anne Arundel County police said a mother has been arrested and faces charges of child abuse, neglect and prostitution after a friend left her child with a hotel desk clerk. Officers were called to the Microtel Hotel in the 1100 block of Winterson Road in Linthicum, not far from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, for a report of a 2-month-old baby being left with the desk clerk around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

North Beach Man Electrocuted While Putting Up Lights. Anne Arundel County fire officials said a man was electrocuted while putting up Christmas lights. Fire officials said it happened in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue in North Beach around 4:25 p.m. Monday. Officials said the victim was on a ladder putting up Christmas lights when his ladder somehow came into contact with a power line while he was hanging his neighbor’s lights, electrocuting him.

4 Injured In Glen Burnie Crash.  Anne Arundel County police said four people were injured in a two-car Glen Burnie crash. Officers were called to the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie for a report of a crash involving two cars around 8 a.m. Monday. Investigators said a 2000 Chrysler 2DS was traveling Eastbound on Stewart Avenue approaching the intersection of Old Stage Road when it collided with a 2002 Nissan Xterra.
