North Beach Man Shocked While Putting Up Lights.  Anne Arundel County fire officials said a man suffered life-threatening injuries after being shocked while putting up Christmas lights. Fire officials said it happened in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue in North Beach around 4:25 p.m. Monday.

Monday Was Busiest Shipping Day For Fedex.  Another sign the holiday is fast approaching: Monday is the busiest shipping day of the year for FedEx. The FedEx warehouse in Linthicum Heights is hopping with activity. They started Monday before dawn. “It’s very busy this time of year, but it’s kind of fun because we get to deliver the packages for people for the holidays. Actually, it’s like bringing smiles on their faces when we get to their doorway with packages,” FedEx worker Keith Holliday said.

BWI-Marshall Adding 2 More Non-Stop Flights.  Southwest Airlines is adding two new nonstop flights to Portland, Ore., and Oakland, Calif., from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The seasonal service announced Monday will begin on June 8. The new destinations from BWI Marshall were part of the airline’s June 2014 schedule update.

Police Make Arrest In Weis Market Shooting.  Anne Arundel County police said a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a Weis Market grocery store in Laurel has been arrested and charged. Around 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Laurel City Police Department officers told Anne Arundel County police that they were detaining a person of interest in the Weis market shots fired incident.
