Pantelides Makes First Two Political Appointments

michael-pantelidesMayor-elect Michael J. Pantelides announced the first two appointments to his team.

Timothy D. Murnane, Esq. will serve as the City Attorney and Rhonda Wardlaw will serve as the City’s Public Information Officer, also referred to as Communications Officer.

Mr. Murnane has been a trial attorney for more than 30 years. He has served as a public defender for Anne Arundel County for eleven years, instructed classes in business law and principles of real estate at the Anne Arundel Community College, and has been the Managing Partner of the Law Office of Timothy D. Murnane, P.C. for the past 35 years.

“Tim’s work with local, national and international companies will serve this City well,” Mayor-elect Pantelides said. “I am impressed with his depth and knowledge of the law and am glad to have him on the team.”

Tim specializes in trial work and more recently transitioning major International law departments for efficiency, corporate governance including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Anti-Bribery Act, Due Diligence, Ethics and Integrity Issues and Social Media Policy. Tim has been married to his wife Susan Neall Murnane for 37 years.

Rhonda Wardlaw was the Public Information officer (PIO) for Mayor Ellen Moyer and was the Digital Media Coordinator for Mayor Joshua J. Cohen, before being named his PIO in 2011. She served as the Director of Communications for Anne Arundel County Executive Janet Owens and for Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Secretary Tom Perez.

“Rhonda is passionate about her work, has a solid work ethic and understands what it takes to get the job done,” Mayor-elect Pantelides said. “She will be a great addition to this administration.”

Rhonda has 25 years experience in television as a meteorologist, host and reporter, most recently in San Francisco, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.   She was also the news director for WNAV radio. Rhonda is the co-founder of The Mid-Atlantic Scots4Tots, a 501(c)(3), supporting families of Wounded Warriors and the New Horizons Culture Arts Program at the Children’s National Medical Center.

The appointment of  the City Attorney is subject to City Council confirmation.
