2013 Palm Card Bud_Page_1The City of Annapolis is pleased to welcome the Military Bowl, presented by Northrop Grumman, on December 27 to the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.  The event will feature a match up between the Maryland Terrapins (7-5) and Conference USA East Division champion Marshall (9-4) with kick off set for 2:30 p.m.

The Military Bowl serves as a premier regional event benefiting the USO and other organizations supporting members of the Armed Forces and their families.

Game day festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. with the Military Bowl Parade, led by the world renowned Budweiser Clydesdales. The parade will start at City Dock, travel up Main Street, around Church Circle to College Avenue, turning left on (inbound) Bladen Street, continuing along Rowe Boulevard, taking a left on Taylor Avenue and ending up at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The parade is expected to take about 90 minutes for all 30 units to move from City Dock to the stadium. Roads along the route will be closed from 11-11:45 a.m. and will open on a rolling basis as the parade progresses to the stadium.

Please be aware that no parking will be allowed at City Dock or along Main Street on Friday, December 27, from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

It loops from City Dock, up Main Street, around Church Circle to West Street and ending at Park Place and back around to City Dock starting at 8 a.m.  The Circulator will not run along the parade route between 11 a.m. and noon.

However, there will be an extended Circulator route running from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday for the game. The extended route will pick up at Park Place, travel down Taylor Avenue and around to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Both the Circulator routes for game day are FREE.  Just wave down the blue trolley and pick it up anywhere along its route.  Those attending the game are encouraged to leave their car at the stadium or at any of the City parking garages. It’s a short walk to West Annapolis, or jump on the Circulator and enjoy the nostalgic ride along West Street to downtown Annapolis and walk over the bridge to Eastport, or jump off at State Circle,  just a few blocks walk to Maryland Avenue, and enjoy the numerous restaurants and shops before and after the game.

Returning from the stadium, the Circulator will go down Taylor Avenue to Park Place and continue its normal route back through the Central Business District.  The City is adding an extra Circulator trolley to the route to ensure our 10 minute headways.

Also, Annapolis Bus Company will offer a free shuttle available at the Harry S Truman Park and Ride, located on Harry S Truman Parkway just off Riva Road, opening at 9 a.m. and running until 7:30 p.m.
