Screenshot 2013-11-05 10.27.31The Parents Advocacy Network is hosting a seminar titled “Helping Your Child With Special Needs Succeed in School” on Monday, November 11 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Woods Memorial Church, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.

“Learning how to be an effective advocate for your child with special needs can be challenging”, says Joanna Conti, Chair of the Parents Advocacy Network.  “We’ve asked panels of parents and educators to explain the legal rights of children with special needs and to advise parents on the role they can play in creating effective IEPs and 504 Plans for their children”.

Held with the support of Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region, the seminar will provide information on resources and options for resolving disputes as well as lots of time for questions.  The seminar is free and open to the public. Potential attendees are asked to RSVP by emailing [email protected].
