Police Investigating Several Armed RobberiesAnne Arundel County police are looking into a series of armed robberies throughout the county that happened within a few hours of each other.  According to police, two workers at Wings and Things Pizza in the 7800 block of Quarterfield Road in Severn said an armed man came into the restaurant demanding money a little after 8 p.m. Sunday. The robber got away on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Man Shot In Linthicum, Shooter Sought.  Anne Arundel County police are investigating a shooting in Linthicum. Police and paramedics were called to the Motel 6 in the 5100 block of Raynor Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Fire officials said a 30-year-old man was taken to Shock Trauma with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Should Annapolis Have A Weak Mayor System.  Days after a Republican was elected mayor of Annapolis for the first time in decades come calls to strip the mayor of much of his political powers, but local leaders say it has nothing to do with the election. Annapolis Alderman Ross Arnett, D-Ward 8, said he told The Capital of Annapolis that he wants the City Council to reconsider an amendment that would put Annapolis under a council-manager style of government.

Glen Burnie Armed Robbery Foiled. An armed man tried to rob a woman as she got into her car in Glen Burnie Saturday night, police said. County police were called around 8:15 p.m. to a medical building in the 300 block of Hospital Drive, where a woman said a man armed with a handgun tried to steal her purse.
