In May of 2013, the Anne Arundel County Police Department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that indicated a person residing in the Linthicum area of Anne Arundel County was receiving and trading child pornography online. Through the investigation, detectives were able to identify that address as 202 Twin Oaks Road located in Linthicum. Detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at this location and recovered several computers, phones, and $1,680 in counterfeit U.S. currency.
Electronics seized at the home were analyzed by our Computer Analysis Technical Support Unit. Over 1,900 images and videos of child pornography were recovered. Forensic analysis confirmed the images recovered were being shared and distributed to other recipients online. An Application for a Statement of Charges was submitted to the District Court Commissioner on November 18, 2013. The Commissioner issued an arrest warrant charging Stephen Edward Evans with Distribution of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of Forged Currency. Stephen Evans was arrested at the Maryland State Police Glen Burnie Barrack after turning himself in on November 19, 2013. He has since been released on $20,000 bail.
