AAACCVB Helps Send Armed Forces Members To Military Bowl

Military BowlThe Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) wants to make it easier for military personnel and their families to attend the December 27 Military Bowl at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. In keeping with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, the tourism organization has turned its Tuesday, November 26, annual holiday celebration into a Holiday Salute to Our Military.

In addition to enjoying hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a cash bar, AAACCVB members and partners who attend the 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 holiday event in the Flag Bridge room at the U.S. Naval Academy’s Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will have the option of contributing $25 toward the purchase of Military Bowl tickets that will be distributed to military personnel and their families by the USO of Metropolitan Washington. The AAACCVB will match all contributions one-to-one, up to $2,500.

AAACCVB President and CEO Connie Del Signore says her organization is pleased to do its part. “We are indebted to members of our armed forces for their selfless service to our country. We here in Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay witness daily the 24/7 commitment of our military. Giving more of these men and women the opportunity to enjoy the Military Bowl with their families is just one small way we can thank them for all that they do.”

The 2013 Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman is the first ever to be played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. This year’s game will match a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference against an opponent from Conference USA. The teams will be announced on Sunday, December 8. Kick-off on December 27 is slated for 2:30 p.m.

The AAACCVB is also working with Military Bowl organizers to identify wounded warriors and their families through the Wounded Warrior Project®. The tourism organization will invite some Wounded Warriors to join AAACCVB representatives in watching the Military Bowl from the comfort of the AAACCVB’s VIP suite at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on December 27.

The AAACCVB is a nonprofit, membership-based destination marketing organization that generates revenues for the local economy by promoting Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay to leisure and business travelers across the country and around the world.
