Authorities Capture 2 Armed Robbers.  Two men were arrested in bust where Anne Arundel County police said guns, drugs and items connected to at least two prior robberies were found. Investigators executed a search and seizure warrant at 5 Warfield Road in Glen Burnie in connection with an ongoing investigation into multiple armed robberies of people that have happened over the last few weeks.

Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Severn.  Someone in Maryland is a new millionaire as the winner of Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing. The lucky winner purchased the ticket in Anne Arundel County and will be the sole owner of the $189 million jackpot, which has a cash option of $129.7 million. Lottery officials said the ticket was purchased at Dash In along the 7000 block of Quarterfield Road in Severn.

Service Academies Suspend Sports Due To Shutdown.  Army, Navy and Air Force might be forced to skip their football games next weekend because of the budget impasse in Congress. The Defense Department temporarily suspended sports competition at the service academies Tuesday as a result of the partial government shutdown. A Pentagon spokesman, Army Col. Steve Warren, said the decision was being reviewed by lawyers to determine whether the funds used for such activities are congressionally appropriated.

Dozens Of Fake IDs Found In BWI Passengers’ Bags.  The Transportation Security Administration said two Nevada men are facing charges in Maryland after dozens of fake identification cards were found in checked luggage at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The TSA said an unidentifiable object in a checked bag set off an alarm on Friday, and officers found a stack of fraudulent cards inside. Officials said the cards included several New York State driver’s licenses and credit cards in different names.
