Golf Tourney Raises Money To Support County Youth

10063088073_257e38625f_oOn Monday, September 23rd more than 120 people showed their support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County by playing in the 20th Annual Adrian L. Merton Tee It Up For Education Golf Tournament presented by The Brick Companies.

The tournament, which was held at the Club at South River, helped raise funds to support BGCAA’s six Clubs and the 2,800 youth served annually.

The golf-filled day included hole-in-one contests, a million dollar shot, breakfast and lunch on the course, a putting contest,18-holes of incredible golf, a silent auction, raffles for golf-related items, and an awards dinner.

“The Club’s Annual Golf Tournament continues to bring in sponsors and community supporters for a great day of golf. The 20th Annual Tournament was no exception as the Club was able to exceed its goal of $100,000 to support the youth of Anne Arundel County” said Peter Summers, President of the BGCAA Board of Trustees. “We are especially grateful to our volunteers from the Severn Bank, Bank of America, and the many others who helped make this event the success that it was” continued Mr. Summers.

All proceeds from the tournament will help BGCAA achieve it’s mission of inspiring and enabling all youth, especially those who need them most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
