NOTE: We have learned that the child was flown to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and not shock-trauma as initially reported. We have corrected the title and the body of the article. We regret the error.
A six-year old boy was seriously injured this afternoon after being hit by a golf cart at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The boy suffered a “open extremity trauma” and was flown to shock-trauma Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore.
From witnesses at the scene, the boy was hit by a golf cart that was being used to transport people to and from their cars (See image below). The accident happened near Gate 6 which is off Taylor Avenue closest to Rowe Boulevard.
There was not a football game at the stadium today; however the lots were being used to accommodate the boat show patrons. There is no immediate word on the condition of the child.
