Endangered & Exotic Reptile Show At Maryland Hall

| October 07, 2013, 04:08 PM | 0 Comments

05reptiles2Discover the world of endangered reptiles at the “Rainforest Reptile Family Show:  Rarity in Peril” at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts on Saturday, October 26 at 3 pm. Tickets are $19; $15 for Maryland Hall members and children.

This interactive presentation features more than a dozen endangered and exotic reptiles and snakes on stage, providing audience members with the chance to learn about these animals and their habitats and why they are endangered.

The show includes opportunities for the audience to see the animals up close on stage, through large-screen video hook-up and through audience participation during the show and to ask questions of Herpetologist Michael Ralbovsky. Among the animals highlighted are lizards, including a Water Monitor Llizard from the rainforests of Indonesia, the Common Boa Constrictor and Marine or Cane Toads.  An interactive exhibit before and after the show includes a variety of artifacts that have been collected by the show’s presenter to highlight conservation, along with many that the US Fish and Wildlife Service has confiscated through illegal importation.

Maryland Hall is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of Maryland and the National Endowment for the Arts, and a grant from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County. Additional support comes from sponsors including: AT&T, Inovalon, Inc., Comcast, ARINC, Wells Fargo, Severn Savings Bank, Loews Annapolis Hotel, Bay Ridge Wine and Spirits, Towne Transport, Verizon, Sandy Spring Bank and M&T Bank.

For more information or to order tickets, contact the Maryland Hall Box Office at 410-280-5640 or visit www.marylandhall.org.  Box office hours are Monday – Friday from noon – 5 pm.  Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is located at 801 Chase Street, Annapolis.
