Police Cite Teen For Tampering With Car.  A teen was cited after a man said he was tampering with his car, Anne Arundel County police said. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Sundown Court in Glen Burnie around 11 p.m. Wednesday. The victim told police he saw a teen looking into his car on Sundown Court. The teen then ran on foot toward Olen Drive, police said.

Lawsuit Filed In USNA Sex Assault Case. Attorneys for a midshipman at the center of a sexual assault case against three ex-Navy football players have asked in a federal lawsuit filed Thursday that the Naval Academy’s superintendent not be involved in deciding whether the men will be court-martialed. The lawsuit seeks a court order directing Vice Adm. Michael Miller to recuse himself, said Susan Burke, attorney for the woman the men are accused of assaulting.

Food Fight Turns To Attempted Murder.  Anne Arundel County police charged one man and may charge a second after a fight over food turned into a stabbing. Officers were called to the Fuji Steakhouse on the 1400 block of South Main Chapel Way in Gambrills for a report of an injury around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday. A 30-year-old man, who is an employee of the business, told police that a 26-year-old man cut him with a knife during an altercation inside of the business.

Manning’s Big Day Spoils Ravens’ Opener.  Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos waited eight long months, then another 33 minutes, to get the season started. A record-tying seven touchdown passes – something no one had done in 44 years – made it worth the while. Connecting with his most prized addition, Wes Welker, former college basketball player Julius Thomas and Demaryius Thomas for two TDs each, Manning directed Denver to a 49-27 victory over the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night in the NFL opener, a much-anticipated rematch against the team that ended the Broncos’ playoff run in January.
