Pro Gun Advocates Rally In Annapolis. As the gun-control debate pops back into the national spotlight after last week’s fatal Navy Yard shootings, legislators in Annapolis are hearing testimony over the legitimacy of new gun-control regulations in Maryland. A pro-gun rally kicked off in Annapolis on Monday morning outside the Capitol building prior to a public hearing on the issue.

Police: Man Caught Red-Handed Stealing.  A man who was crawling in and out of fenced Glen Burnie business was caught red-handed stealing scrap metal, Anne Arundel County police said. Officers were called to the back parking lot of Tate Dodge in the 7100 block of Ritchie Highway for a theft in progress around 6:10 p.m. Sunday. A witness told police a dark-colored van was parked near a fence on the back side of Tate Dodge and a man crawled through a hole in the fence, taking items from the lot and putting them in the vehicle.

Police: Suspect Caught After Apartment Break In.  Anne Arundel County police said they captured one suspect, but are looking for more after an apartment was broken into in Glen Burnie. Officers were called to an apartment in the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane for a report of an attempted burglary. Police said they learned three men tried to forcibly enter the back of the apartment before fleeing when a resident noticed them.

Polie Capture Pair Of Thieves In Pasadena.  Anne Arundel County police said they arrested two thieves who they believe may be linked to several thefts from cars. Officers were called to the 500 block of Pleasantview Avenue in Pasadena for a report of an auto burglary in progress around 1:45 a.m. Monday. The caller told police two people were inside his truck that was parked on the side of his home.
