On August 19, 2013, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the 5100 block of 4th Street in Brooklyn Park for a reported suspicious subject call.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a community resident, who stated that she witnessed a known registered sex offender walking into a nearby wooded area with a 13-year-old child.  Another resident in the community went to the woods and brought the child back to their house until police arrived. The victim was then reunited with his family. The investigation was turned over to detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division. Interviews were completed and it was determined that the suspect drove the victim to a location and touched him inappropriately on two separate occasions. Other information was obtained during interviews indicating that an incident may have occurred in a neighboring jurisdiction involving an adult victim. An application of charges was applied for and a warrant issued charging the suspect with two counts of Third Degree Sex Offense, two counts of Fourth Degree Sex Offense and two counts of Second Degree Assault.

The suspect was located and taken into custody on August 24, 2013, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Anne Arundel County Sex Offense Unit Detectives will be sharing information to assist with that portion of the investigation. If anyone has any information regarding these crimes, please contact Detective Karl Acker at 410-222-3468 or Sergeant Tracy Morgan at 410-222-3470.
