Don Dwyer Faces Challenger For House Seat.  Anne Arundel County Delegate Don Dwyer, who awaits sentencing on drunken boating charges and who police arrested Tuesday on a DUI charge, faces a challenge for his legislative seat, WBAL-TV 11 News has learned. Long-time Anne Arundel County businessman and civic leader Gus Kurtz announced Friday he is seeking Dwyer’s seat in the House of Delegates.

Armed Robber Strikes At CVS In Severn.  Police are investigating an armed robbery at a CVS pharmacy in Severn and are asking for the public’s help in the case. Officers were called to the store in the 2600 block of Annapolis Road around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Store employees told police a woman came into the store, pointed a handgun at them and demanded money. She then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police Investigate Laurel Home Invasion-Robbery.  Anne Arundel County police are investigating a home-invasion robbery in Laurel. Officers were called to North Gail Street for a report of a home invasion robbery at 10:12 p.m. Thursday. A 60-year-old woman told police that when she heard a noise at her front door and opened it, two men pushed their way in and knocked her to the floor.

Woman, Child Assaulted During Attempted Robbery.  A woman and her 6-year-old child were assaulted during an attempted robbery in Anne Arundel County, police said. Officers were called to the 1200 block of Whittington Drive in Lothian for a reported assault and attempted robbery at 4:40 p.m. Thursday. A 31-year-old woman told police she was walking on Whittington Drive with her daughter when she was approached from behind by a teenager who asked her where her money was.
