Around 5:00 p.m. on August 16, 2013, a 911 call was received reporting an injured person as a result of a fall behind a home in the 1300 block of Kinloch Circle in Arnold. Upon arrival, rescue personnel located a male patient suffering multiple injuries approximately 200 feet down a steep, 300 foot slope that ends at the waterfront.  The victim suffered the injuries after falling from a tram while descending the hill.  Rescuers immobilized the victim in a Rescue Basket and removed him utilizing ropes and a hauling system to an awaiting ambulance. Twenty Anne Arundel County Fire and Special Operations personnel, as well as a unit from Queen Anne’s County, completed the rescue in less than 30 minutes.

The victim, a 69 year-old male, was transported by Maryland State Police Helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious, life threatening injuries. An investigation into cause of the incident is being conducted by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
