Just after 3:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013, the Anne Arundel County 911 Center began receiving multiple calls reporting a building fire at the Severna Park Taco Bell, located at 578 Ritchie Highway South. The first arriving unit reported a fire on the roof towards the rear of the building which was brought under control by 24 firefighters in less than 20 minutes.
The building was not occupied at the time of the incident. Fire Investigators have determined that the cause of the fire was an exterior electrical fixture and damage is estimated to be $15,000. The Health Department has been notified due to smoke damage to the interior of the building. No injuries were reported.
