Baysox Strike Late To Top B-Mets

Baysox 2013IMG_9706The Bowie Baysox (65-63) scored two runs in the eighth inning and beat the Binghamton Mets (80-49) 4-1 on Tuesday night.

The Baysox struck first in the top of the fourth inning.  With two outs, Caleb Joseph hit his 28th double of the season.  Then Josh Horton knocked him in with an RBI double that gave the Baysox a 1-0 lead.

In the sixth inning, the B-Mets tied up the game.  Josh Rodriguez doubled and then with two outs Allan Dykstra singled to bring him home and make the score 1-1.

The Baysox took the lead back in the eighth inning.  With one out, Kyle Hudson singled.  Then Trayvon Robinson reached on an infield single and on a throwing error by shortstop Daniel Muno, Hudson came all the way around to score from first base. Then with two outs, Joseph knocked in Robinson to make the score 3-1.

Brandon Waring tacked on one more run in the ninth when he blasted his 19th home run of the season to make the score 4-1.

Eduardo Rodriguez started the game for the Baysox and tossed six innings of one run, five hit ball with seven strikeouts and on walk.  He left in the seventh inning with the score tied 1-1 and got a no decision.

Matt Bischoff got the win throwing a two scoreless innings and striking out four batters.

Oliver Drake nailed down the save in the ninth inning.

Ryan Fraser gave up the two runs in the eighth inning and got the loss.
