High Court Overturns Decision To Oust Anne Arundel Councilman. Maryland’s highest court has overturned the ousting of an Anne Arundel County councilman who was convicted of failing to file a tax return. The Maryland Court of Appeals issued the 4-3 ruling on Monday in the case of former Councilman Daryl Jones. Jones refused to resign and vowed to keep his council seat despite pleading guilty in August 2011 to failing to file some personal and business tax returns.

Anne Arundel County Looks For New Superintendent. Anne Arundel is looking for someone to replace Dr. Kevin Maxwell, who is heading to Prince George’s County. There’s a good chance the district could hire someone from the inside. The school system has a history of looking in-house for interim superintendents, but it could be a week or more before it is known who’ll eventually be picked to hold down the top job.

Robber Strikes At TD Bank In Glen Burnie.  Anne Arundel County police are asking for the public’s help to find a robber. Police said a robber struck at the TD Bank at 7926 Crain Highway South in Glen Burnie around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. A man came into the bank and displayed a note to the bank teller announcing a bank robbery, police said. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

2 Injured In Pasdena Truck Crash. Two people are recovering from injuries they suffered Monday afternoon when the truck they were riding in flipped. Anne Arundel County fire officials said two people were trapped inside the pickup truck in the 8900 block of Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena. An 87-year-old man was flown to Shock Trauma, and a 52-year-old woman was taken to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center. Both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
