Rams Head Promotes New Talent Buyer

RHL1Rams Head Group, a restaurant and live entertainment company, announced today that it has promoted Ramon “Boo” Valdez to Talent Buyer for Rams Head Live in Baltimore, Maryland.

Kyle Muehlhauser, President of the Rams Head Group, said: “We are excited to move Boo into this role. He has excelled in all other areas he has worked at the Rams Head, and we know he will continue to do so in this capacity.”

Boo Valdez has spent over a decade at Rams Head Group, serving primarily as the Production Manager.  During that time, Valdez was responsible for the on-stage, backstage, technical details and settlement for more than 1200 concerts at Rams Head Live in Baltimore.  Valdez established positive relationships with tour managers and bands, gaining a great understanding of the concert business.

“Rather than choose from the pile of resumés of journeyman bookers, we decided to take the approach of moving someone up from the real-time production world, that understands bands from the ground up,” said Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and promoter for Rams Head Live. “There is nothing bands appreciate more than the people that deal with one aspect of a show understanding all of the others. Well…maybe that and plenty of beer. Anyway, Boo Valdez will book the Rams Head Live with a compete knowledge of the shows there top to bottom. He’s a nice, normal person with good common sense. I know that sounds weird these days, but we’re gonna give it a try.”

Additionally, Valdez has vast experience in all aspects of live music since 1988, including serving as Stage Manager at Preakness Stakes InfieldFest, Crew Chief for stage builds for the past two presidential inaugurations, Tour Manager for Nils Lofgren, rigging, lighting, fireworks and 5 years with the acclaimed 99.1WHFS.

As Talent Buyer for Rams Head Live, Valdez will be responsible for talent buying for the Baltimore, Maryland Club.  He will work with Marketing Director, Brandon Linton to continue to deliver quality acts in the Baltimore market.  Rams Head Live finished the 2012 year ranked #8 in the world, according to Pollstar magazine.
