Baysox Streak Comes To End

Baysox 2013IMG_9784The Bowie Baysox (50-46) had their seven-game winning streak come to an end as they were shutout by the Altoona Curve (43-53) 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Curve scored the only runs of the game in the second inning.  Alex Dickerson led off with a solo home run to get the Curve out to the early lead.  Then Justin Howard and Charles Cutler hit back-to-back singles to put runners at the corners.  Carlos Paulino followed with a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-0.

Jared Hughes started the game on major league rehab and pitched two scoreless innings.

The Nick Kingham came in and got the win going six shutout innings and allowing six runs on four strikeouts with three walks.

Tim Bascom got the loss going five innings and allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Nate Baker got the save getting the final two outs of the game.
