Officials Investigate 2-Alarm Fire In Severn.  Fire crews were dispatched to a home in the 1800 block of Estate Court in Severn for a two-alarm dwelling fire Sunday morning. A neighbor who saw smoke contacted the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, according to officials.  Wendy van Vliet also saw the fire and sent an image to 11 News.

Naval Academy Investigating Alleged Assault.  The U.S. Naval Academy is investigating allegations that three football team members sexually assaulted a female midshipman at an off-campus house more than a year ago, a Pentagon spokesman said Friday, and a lawyer for the woman says she was “ostracized” on campus after she reported it.

Bealefeld Investigating Arundel PD, Tip Line Set Up.  Former Baltimore City Police Department Commissioner Fred Bealefeld will chair a task force examining possible problems within Anne Arundel County’s police department.  New County Executive Laura Neuman announced the task force’s creation last month. On Thursday, she also announced a tip hotline that has been set up so people can report concerns about unethical or inappropriate behavior within the department. The tip line is 410-222-2400.

Authorities Ask For Public’s Help In Arson Fire. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said it is asking for the public’s help to find the person or persons responsible for an arson fire in Brooklyn. Officials said the fire happened between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. on May 23 when someone ignited a fire at Pizza City at 5621 Belle Grove Road in Brooklyn.
