Man Dies In Brooklyn Trailer Fire, Anne Arundel’s 4th Fire Fatality

FD_BannerAround 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013, Anne Arundel County Firefighters were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire in the 600 block of Sunset Strip in the Brooklyn area of Anne Arundel County.

The first unit to arrive on the scene reported nothing evident from a double-wide mobile home however, further investigation discovered a room and contents fire. Firefighters also located and removed an individual with 35% second and third degree burns to both arms and upper torso. Twenty-five firefighters quickly brought the incident under control and the victim was transported by ambulance to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore with serious, life threatening injuries.

As a result of the fire, Mr. Brice V. Clements, a 72 year old male, succumbed to those injuries on Friday, June 14th, making him the fourth fire fatality in Anne Arundel County this year.

The cause of the fire, which originated in the bedroom of the home, remains under investigation. Damage to the home was estimated to be less than $1,000. Smoke Alarms did not activate due to the fire being minimal in size.
