World Renowned Guitarist To Perform At St. John’s College

Foto_RobertoWorld-renowned Guitarist Roberto Limon from Mexico will perform at St. John’s College Great Hall 60 College Avenue Annapolis on May 24, 2013, at 7 PM. Mr. Limon is widely recognized as a concert performer throughout the world. He performs regularly as soloist with numerous orchestras in both his own country of Mexico but throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, including the Czech National Symphony,, Seoul Philharmonic, and the National Symphony Orchestra. Numerous composers have dedicated works to this outstanding guitarist. He has also been a member of the Angel Romero Quartet. His latest recording from guitar and orchestra, Tang Mata Danzon Mata Tango, was nominated in the second annual Latin Grammy Awards in the best classical album category, and he was recently honored with the Jack Straw Foundation Award for his work with Soprano Cherie Hughes. As well, he is the director of the Hispanoamericano de Guitarra. The program includes works by Chaves, Noble, Diego, Banks, Tarrega and others.

The concert is sponsored by World Artists Experiences in partnership with the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Embassy of Mexico and Cultural Institute, and the National Council for the Arts in Mexico.
