The victim rescued from a fire in Crofton on May 21, 2013 has succumbed to the injuries she sustained in that incident. 52 year-old Patricia Hart was pronounced dead at the Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore late yesterday afternoon. At around 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Arundel County Firefighters were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire in the 1800 block of Foxdale Court in Crofton. The first unit to arrive on the scene reported smoke showing from the second floor of a two-story, end unit, townhome.
During a search of the building, firefighters located and rescued Ms. Hart from a second floor bathroom. She was initially transported to the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis with serious, life-threatening injuries and later transferred to the Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore.
A total of 23 firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at 2:20 p.m. The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined. No additional injuries were reported. The total estimated damage to the home was $60,000.
It has been determined that there were no working smoke alarms in the residence.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death to be fire related, making this the 3rd fire death in the County for 2013.

The total estimated damages to the home were not available.
