Self-Defense Workshop For Women & Teen Girls

Jing Ying Front Logo_fullStarting May 16, Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi (www.jingying.org),will be holding a 3-class self-defense session for women and teen girls interested in learning important skills for protecting themselves. For effective self-defense, much more than fighting skills are needed. A personal protection plan is needed to avoid trouble, easily escape a bad situation, or if all else fails, fight back effectively.

Billy and Nancy Greer, owners of  Jing Ying Institute, will help participants develop their personal protection plan by discussing safe practices and by demonstrating and teaching simple but effective techniques for escaping an aggressor or fighting back. The emphasis will be on safety. Students enrolled in the session will not be taught complicated self-defense techniques that will be forgotten under stress when needed most. Instead, basic principles will be taught that can be easily applied in a variety of situations.

This is a series of 3 classes (May 16, 23, 30). Pre-registration is required. Information and registration is at www.JingYing.org or call 410-431-5200.

Founded in 2000, Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi has been the leader in bringing Chinese martial arts and culture to Anne Arundel County. Their award-winning programs are available for children and adults six days a week. They are located at 1195 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Arnold MD.
