Police Helicopter Forced To Land On HS Football Field. A police helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on Wilde Lake High School’s football field on Thursday night. Howard County police said the chopper suffered mechanical problems while in flight, forcing it to make the emergency landing just after 11 p.m.

Woman Driving Scooter Killed In Elkridge. A woman died early Thursday morning after the motor scooter she was driving was hit by a box truck in Elkridge. Howard County police were called shortly after 6 a.m. to the westbound lanes of Business Parkway, where they found Brandy Copeland, 26, of Elkridge, who had been driving a TaoTao motorized scooter, dead at the scene.

Man Headed To Court In Fatal City Hall Crash. The man charged in a fatal April crash outside Baltimore City Hall headed to court Thursday. Johnny Johnson, 43, was arraigned Thursday morning for allegedly killing a pedestrian — long-time city employee Matt Hersl. A grand jury indicted Johnson on two counts of homicide, five drug charges and two traffic offenses.

6 Royal Caribbean Cruises Canceled After Fire. Six Royal Caribbean cruises out of Baltimore aboard the newly-revitalized ship Grandeur of the Seas are canceled after a fire. Royal Caribbean International officials said there was an electrical fire on the mooring area of deck 3 around 2:50 a.m. Monday. The fire was extinguished. Ship officials said the captain gathered all 2,224 guests and that they, along with 796 crew members, have been accounted for. No injuries were reported.
