Anne Arundel County Girl Writes Obama, Hears Back. A first-grader from Anne Arundel County is taking on one of the most controversial issues in the country. She wrote a letter to President Barack Obama voicing her concerns about gun control. At 7 years old, Erika Ward isn’t shy about expressing her views on social issues. She was compelled to write the president after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Attackers Jump, Rob Man In Severn.  Anne Arundel County police said they are looking for a group of men that jumped and robbed a man in Severn. Officers were called to the 1800 block of Arwell Court for a report of a robbery around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Police said a 26-year-old man told him he was approached by four men. He told police three men stood in the roadway, while the fourth brandished a handgun, struck the victim with the handgun and then forced the victim to empty his pockets.

Police: Man Arrested In Brooklyn Park Stabbing.  An argument led to a stabbing that injured one man in Brooklyn Park, police said. Anne Arundel County police officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Arden Road West in Brooklyn Park for a stabbing around 5 p.m. May 13. A witness told police that man she knows came into her home and stabbed a 19-year-old Brooklyn Park man.

Four ‘Johns’ Arrested In Linthicum Prostitution Sting. Four men attempting to buy sexual services were arrested in a prostitution sting in Linthicum, police say on Monday. Anne Arundel County police detectives conducted an undercover prostitution sting in the Linthicum-area hotel district on May 1. Investigators said the operation focused specifically on johns attempting to solicit sexual services from prostitutes on the Internet.
